Speech, Language and Swallowing Therapist - Job Description

THE ROLE ENCOMPASSES:

  1. Performing speech, language and swallowing screenings and assessments;
  2. Designing and implementing a structured and individualized treatment program to assist infants, children and / or adults with various speech, language and swallowing disorders or delays; and
  3. Providing the highest quality customer care and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full time employment (9am – 6pm daily, Sunday – Thursday), might include evenings and / or Saturday – requires between 30 – 35 hours of therapy per week
  • Provide ongoing guidance within each client’s individualized program, ensuring each client’s continued progress towards realizing their maximum potential
  • Communicate questions, client’s progress or other feedback to parents / spouse / guardian, teachers and other therapists
  • Participate in clinic / team meetings, workshops and training seminars as necessary
  • Collect data and maintain documentation pertaining to each client’s individualized program
  • Write client observation reports or progress notes highlighting the client’s strengths and areas of need, as well as recommendations for school staff, for the school and the client’s family
  • Update all reports, progress and any material pertaining to the client into the Client Relationship Management system

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech, Language and Swallowing Pathology / Speech and Language Therapy
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ work experience as a Speech, Language and Swallowing Therapist / Pathologist
  • Eligible for a Dubai Health Authority license
  • Relevant work experience supported by a reference letter that is signed & stamped by previous employer(s)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a requirement
  • Be creative and have problem solving skills – to design programs appropriate to different learning styles and communication issues

Occupational Therapist - Job Description

THE ROLE ENCOMPASSES:

  1. Assessing, diagnosing and providing therapy for a wide range of motor, perceptual, sensory and functional difficulties
  2. Designing and implementing a structured and individualized treatment program to assist infants, children and / or adults with various disorders, delays, difficulties, recovery and / or rehabilitation
  3. Providing the highest quality of customer care and customer service

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full-time employment (9am – 6pm, Sunday – Thursday), may include evenings and / or Saturday – requires between 30 – 35 hours of therapy per week
  • Provide ongoing guidance within each client’s individualized program, ensuring each client’s continued progress towards realizing their maximum potential
  • Communicate effectively when providing advice, training and therapy programs with clients, family members, guardians, a spouse, other therapists, other healthcare professionals and education staff
  • Participate in clinic / team meetings, workshops and training seminars as necessary
  • Collect data, maintain and provide detailed and accurate updates on all progress and any material pertaining to the client and their individualized program into the Client Relationship Management system
  • Create reports and progress notes highlighting the client’s strengths and areas of need as well as recommendations on how to accelerate progress outside the therapy session
  • Collaborate with the team to provide the best available plan of care and maintain client confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights of the client
  • Behaviors and interactions demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative and motivation to achieve the goals of the unit
  • To uphold the standards of the profession and organization and practice ethically with integrity
  • Provide assessments and therapy at Q Enrichment Center as well as at a client’s home or school

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience as an Occupational Therapist in a clinical or hospital setting (school setting does not apply as per Dubai Health Authority requirements)
  • Licensed or eligible for a license from Dubai Health Authority and / or Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (formally known as Health Authority Abu Dhabi – HAAD)
  • Relevant work experience supported by a reference letter that is signed & stamped by your previous employer(s)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Therapy principles, standards and applications
  • Knowledge of physical, biological and behavioral sciences as well as application of occupational therapy equipment, devices and client – specific therapeutic devices
  • Able to analyze client data, behavior and modify the treatment plan as appropriate

ABOUT YOU

  • To be considered, you must be passionate about working with infants, children and / or adults with occupational therapy needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a requirement
  • Be creative and have good problem-solving skills to design programs appropriate to different learning styles and client needs in the efforts to accelerate progress with rehabilitation

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

PREFERRED (but not essential)

  • Experience assessing and treating adult clients with occupational therapy requirements
  • Arabic language skills
