Swaliha Shahama is a Speech, Language & Swallowing Pathologist at Q Enrichment Center. Ms. Shahama is from India and is a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and the Indian Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ISHA). Ms. Shahama is a certified Oral Placement Therapist (OPT, Level 1) by TalkTools, USA. Ms. Shahama supports a neurodiversity-affirming approach and is also certified in Play Therapy for Autism-Spectrum Disorders by Lucy Bowen (National Association for Play Therapy India).

Ms. Shahama has over three (3) years of experience working as a Speech, Language & Swallow Pathologist.  Ms. Shahama’s clinical experience includes providing services to individuals from infancy to senior citizens.  Ms. Shahama possesses specialist knowledge and clinical experience in the following:

  • Beautiful Minds Astitva in Bangalore, India.
  • All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar, India for one (1) year.
  • Aramana Hospital and Heart Centre in Kerala, India.
  • Hearing Wellness Clinic in Kerala, India for one (1) year.

 

Ms. Shahama has attended over 7 workshops over the years to continue her professional development and enhance her skills as a Speech, Language & Swallowing Pathologist.  A selection of these courses include: Functional Intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorder, Current Trends and Practices in Voice Therapy, Dementia Care Skills Course and Clinical Based Training of Speech Language Pathologists in the Rehabilitation of Cleft Lip & Palate.

Ms. Shahama completed a Master of Speech Language Pathology from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in 2020.  Ms. Shahama also received a Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in 2017.
