Aneesa Corcoran is the Head of Department for Speech, Language and Swallowing Pathology at Q Enrichment Center ("Q Enrichment"). Ms. Corcoran is a certified Speech, Language and Swallowing Pathologist by both Dubai Health Authority and the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi. In February 2016, Ms. Corcoran was appointed by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi to be a member of its examination board. Ms. Corcoran, a native English speaker, can provide therapy in English, French, Afrikaans and Arabic. Ms. Corcoran is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council UK (HCPC UK) and the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT).
Ms. Corcoran has over 13 years of experience working in the United Arab Emirates, Republic of Ireland and South Africa. Ms. Corcoran’s clinical experience includes providing services to individuals from infancy to senior citizens and she possesses specialist knowledge in the areas of: Feeding and Swallowing disorders; Articulation disorders; Language disorders; Voice disorders; Fluency disorders; Traumatic Brain Injuries; Vocal Cord Dysfunction; Autism Spectrum Disorders; Hearing Impairments; Cerebral Palsy; Neonatal conditions; Reflux; Enteral feedings; Central Auditory Processing Disorder; Sensory issues; Aphasia; Attention Deficit Disorder / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; and Down Syndrome.
Ms. Corcoran was a part-time lecturer at the Medical Faculty at University College Dublin from 2008 - 2015. Ms. Corcoran also presented at the International Speech and Language and Medical Conferences in the Republic of Ireland and the Middle East as a guest speaker.
Prior to joining Q Enrichment in April 2017, Ms. Corcoran was at Amana Healthcare Medical and Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi, UAE for approximately two (2) years. Prior to Amana, Ms. Corcoran was with the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dublin, Ireland for approximately eight (8) years.
Ms. Corcoran received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2004. Ms. Corcoran also completed a Masters in Speech and Language Therapy (Advanced Dysphagia Practice) in 2008 and a Masters in Healthcare Management specializing in Improving Clinical Outcomes in Patients from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin in 2013.
